What is a 403b?

403b or 457b is a tax code. Most people are familar with an IRA. That is also a tax code. Tax codes are created by the IRS for different groups and organizations. . Not-for-profit organizations such as Schools, certain Hospitals or Churches have retirment plans that offer a tax code that will allow their employees to save for retirement tax deferred. Thats a fancy way of saying, they can pay taxes later but while they're saving they don't pay taxes on that money or it's gains. Being able to work with this group of people is advantageous due to the tax deferred savings they have access to.

What is Required to Work in this Field?

All agents are required to have a basic license to sell financial products in the state where they will be working. This is a general license needed to sell Life Insurance and Fixed Annuities. Series 6 or 7 licenses or Fiduciaries are not required, however if you do possess those licenses and need a place to work and park your license, The Agent Portal is partnered with FINRA Approved Agencies that are looking for and training series 6 and greater 403b agents.
